The ” I am an Entrepreneur ” Campaign
Technopark TUC/TBI, in association with its Network Partner, M/s TechnoFIRST, a Technology Entrepreneurship and Career magazine and AIRCEL, the giants in mobile phone service provider domain, is carrying out its latest promotional initiative, named “I am an Entrepreneur”, a very innovative programme to spread the message of innovation, Incubation and entrepreneurship. It is an all-Kerala entrepreneurship development campaign that is intended to ignite young talents in the engineering colleges and Business Schools spread across the state. This state wide campaign is to identify the innovators and industrial spin outs who have innovative ideas and those who are located in the college campuses.
It is a known fact that there lies immense potential in the campuses of the State, which can be spotted and nurtured to develop successful home grown companies. Technopark-TBI has provisions to provide them with ‘Innovation Fund’ from DSIR and ’seed funds’ from DST, for development of prototypes and (or) starting their companies in the T-TBI. The support level received for all these initiatives, from DST and DSIR of Govt. of India, is appreciable.
The campaigning for the project ‘ I am an entrepreneur campaign’ will be carried out in leading dailies and other forms of media, both electronic and print, and aims at creation of awareness among the students and other entrepreneurs and generating global attention to the movement. It would thus include road shows, seminars, and awareness videos which generates serious interest amongst the erudite and the common man.
The campaign will traverse the length and breadth of Kerala, creating awareness and providing motivation to the technical/management students and the prospective entrepreneurs. The campaign is planned to be executed using two campaign vehicles, each vehicle visiting different campuses a day. About 150 colleges in the state have been identified and the campaign vehicles will be visiting them to spread the idea of Entrepreneurship and to motivate young and willing entrepreneurs. There has been a motivational video shot for this purpose, in which many eminent entrepreneurs from Kerala, like Mr.Kris Gopalakrishnan (CEO,Infosys) an other eminent personalities like Hon.Central Minister Mr.Shashi Tharoor, etc. have shared their valuable experiences and thoughts about the importance of building awareness about the facts and fantasies of entrepreneurship among students and about the measures that could help a young technocrat to be an entrepreneur himself. This particular video will be shown to the students of the identified colleges, and along with it, a few other motivating activities will be organized to make the students aware about the vast and immense resource structures that are available to support them in making them successful entrepreneurs.
The campaign is aimed to have an impact on the minds of students who have great ideas but are not being able to proceed as they are unaware of methods to gather fund and infrastructure for the proceeding activities. It is expected that, after the campaign, thousands of students would become aware of the supports available from their society and government.
