National Innovation Foundation (NIF) supports grass root innovators by scouting and documenting their knowledge. See http://www.nif.org.in/NIF also provides assistance in patenting and commercialization of traditional knowledge.
2. I want to validate my traditional knowledge
TePP provides grants to holders of traditional knowledge to test the herbal product for toxicity and efficacy in approved scientific laboratory. NIF assists grass root innovators in preparing applications for TePP support. Support is also extended by Department of Ayurveda, Yoga& Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH). 3. I have developed low cost agricultural implement. I want to improve the design
TePP supports development of engineered prototypes under TPF category. Before applying, farmer innovators are advised to check parallel work done in Agricultural Engineering and Technology Division of ICAR. Web site: http://www.icar.org.in/agengg.htm Considering farmer innovator may not have relevant technical knowledge and facilities, they can enter into agreement with central or state institutes for engineering, fabrication & testing before applying to TePP. The amount paid to supporting institute is an expenditure eligible for support under TePP.
4. I want to patent my innovation
You can apply yourself or take help of Patent Attorney. See resources at http://www.indianinnovatorsforum.org/patent_registration.htm Before you apply for patent, read `Fundamentals of Patenting’. TePP has provision to support patenting but to disclose the details, innovators are advised to apply for provisional patent before applying to TePP. NAARM offers one year PG diploma in in IP and Technology Management.
5. I have developed a rural innovation and want to take it market
Support is possible under S3T category of TePP. This requires joint funding with Banks/ Financial Institutions/ other investors. Innovator will also be required to prepare a business plan. Support is provided by organizations like RIN web site: http://www.rinovations.org/ Rural Innovation Fund of NABARD can be contacted for co-investment.
6. I want to test my innovation

Support is available from Rural Innovation Fund of NABARD and also from many other organizations like SFAC ( Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium)
