Highlights of the ABCI awards 2016!

ABCI, Association of Business Communicators of India, has been India's largest non-profit organization for Business communications professionals since 1957. Recently, they held their 56th ABCI awards on the 28th of October at Vivanta Taj, Mumbai.
Before the awards, they held their Brand India Summit on the 27th and 28th October. This Com-Fest was aimed at celebrating Indian origin brands and India as a nation brand. On the second day of the Summit, the ceremony awarded 66 organizations like ACC Limited, Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ITC Limited, TATA Chemicals, Reserve Bank of India, NABARD and Ministry of External Affairs.
Here are some of the winners:
Mahashay Dharampal of MDH – Indian of the Year
Early Learning Village – Most Promising Education Brand in India
Anuj Agarwal and Jai Agarwal of Gyan Dairy – Young Indian Entrepreneur of the Year
Naunihal Singh – Indian Startup Evangelist of the Year
Thyrocare – Indian Brand of the Year
Pankaj Poddar of Cosmo Films –Indian CEO of the Year
BVG Group – Indian Service Brand of the Year
Ankur Bhatia – Entrepreneur of the Year.
Besides these, the highlight were the Elite Awards presented by A Velumani, CEO of Thyrocare. These included:
Saurabh Uboweja, Founder and CEO Brands of Desire – Promising Business Communicator
Indian Oil Corporation Limited – Excellence Exemplified in Handling Crisis Communication Management
Larsen & Toubro – Top Communicators Team of the Decade
BSNL – Social Media Outreach Campaign During Calamity
Pioneers also shared interesting perspectives on the emergence of Indian brands internationally. These included Piyush Pandey, the Padma Shri awardee, National Creative Director of Ogilvy & Mather India and Vice-Chairman of O&M Asia-Pacific and Indian scientist and Padma Shri awardee, Subbiah Arunan.
The event was a delight and huge motivation for Indian entrepreneurs. It also served as a testament to how far Indian brands have come and the immense potential they have.
