However, it’s only when the going gets tough do the basic differences underneath start showing up. If you haven’t prepared for conflict in your co-founder relationship, you’ll be fighting like dogs the moment when you most need to be working well together to save your startup. .............................................................................. The best way to avoid this is to fully understand & acknowledge each other’s strengths and weaknesses, divide responsibilities clearly, acknowledge that mistakes can and will be made and speak directly and honestly when conflict rears its ugly head.
Be quick to seek professional support from mentors if it is not getting resolved rather than brushing it under the carpet and pretending it does not exist. Successful co-founders actually embrace conflict and constantly work towards resolving it. As they say a stitch in time saves the whole startup!! 🙂
