As digital bug hits the entire world; the whole universe could be accessed with just the click of a button. Whether it’s your desired groceries, designer one-piece dress, matching stilettoes or a long-time favourite novel, you could have all this supply at the drop of a hat. What if your car fuel also gets added to this list? Here goes the story of ‘Instafuel’- an instant fuel service that gets delivered at your doorstep instantly.

In a one-on-one chat with Gairika Mitra, Chandigarh-based Pavi Rampal, founder of Instafuel talks of his small voyage towards entrepreneurship.

The Beginning:

Since I have been associated with construction and other industries, I wanted to do something I would enjoy and that benefits the society at large. The idea germinated when we thought we could possibly start up with something that could be a rarity and also catered to the masses. Thus we thought of taking this huge leap.

Fuel is a fast moving commodity and it’s repeatable by nature. Thus I decided to invest into fuel.

The Process:

Instafuel delivers petroleum/diesel service straight to the homes of its customers. It serves its customers anytime between eight am to eight pm on a 24/7 basis. The system starts with the customers registering themselves on the website and providing some basic information, selecting a location, deciding on the amount of fuel required before the fuel gets delivered at their doorsteps. It comes with benefits like earning some free deliveries or booking fuel for their offices or neighbourhood.

We serve fuel in metallic barrel stations. And we are continuously striving towards improving the logistics through which diesel is raised. When we first started in January this year, we focused more on door-to-door selling and the response has been a huge one from the masses. We cater to small and medium scale industries in schools, hotels and hospitals and already are serving 150-200 consumers in such a short span. We aim to reach higher numbers soon.

Environmental Connect:

I can say that our organisation will cut fuel wasted. For instance, if 20 people go down to get fuel, our truck can do that in one round for those 20 people. That’s 19 less vehicles on the road traveling back and forth for refuelling. And further, it will reduce congestion around fuelling stations.

Plans Ahead:

Serving the nation with a business model that is both unique and convenient to customers, we want our name to spread all across the nation and gradually we plan to spread our wings abroad as well. Right now, we are working to get the fundamentals of the business right. Once that happens, we will get more funds and create a multiplier effect, and help scale up both operations- that’s my business and logistics.
